Fun Video Lessons and Printables about Literary Devices and Figurative Language using a Christmas Theme
I am very excited to share with you my first video lessons and printables about figurative language and literary devices I am offering for free. These videos review the terms and definitions for common literary devices and figurative language and provide practice in identifying them in two fun Christmas themed written pieces.
The first video reviews the terms, definitions, and examples of “imagery”, “similes”, “metaphors”, “personification”, “alliteration”, and “hyperbole”. You can print out the printables to follow along with the video or review and practice later on your own.

The second video uses ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ and the ‘The Grinch song’ to practice identifying these devices in these written works. We review the beginning of each work to practice and you are encouraged to complete them on your own and use the provided answer keys to check how well you did in finding the devices on your own.
