This lesson with video and worksheet demonstrates for your child and allows them to generate and organize a topic and subtopics for a 5 paragraph essay and shows them how to add details and examples for these subtopics for an essay.

Brainstorming is the key to making the writing process easier and more organized when it comes to putting ideas down on paper and organizing them into a coherent essay.

Skipping this step challenges your child when trying to process ideas and subtopics, examples, and details and organizing their thoughts.

The structure of the process and worksheet allows your child to not worry about “What am I going to write about?”

Allow them to choose a topic they can talk to you about off the top of their head; put that topic in the middle bubble of the page, and the ideas start to flow.

This process and worksheet automatically organizes and connects details and examples to subtopic ideas that are related to the main topic.

Your child has the structure of their essay on this paper and is ready to start their essay!

Along with a link to the video lesson, a free Brainstorming Worksheet is included to follow along and get you started. This form naturally organizes your child’s ideas and gets them ready to put these ideas into separate paragraphs for the body of their essay.
